sparrows which are normally called as "market birds" are very rare now. about 5 years back i could see groups of more than 300 very frequently, but reasons which are best known to cruel man, these small wonderful creature of God is fast disappearing.

As a child I remember waking up to the chirping of over 50 sparrows comfortable sitting on the electric pipes. Over the years,I haven't been able to spot even one. There were times when they built their nests on those pipes, they would vanish during noon time only to return at 7.00 p.m. But now I haven't seen a sparrow for almost a decade. The hope hasn't died, if we are ones who led them to extinct we can definitely work hard to see them in abundance again....

When I am returning home from work, I walk by a few old trees. At that time (usually 5:30 p.m.), in one of these trees, a lot of sparrows are sitting and raising a ruckus. So much noise that they easily attract my attention. I have, kind of, started looking forward to these moments now.
Also, in morning, it always bring a smile on my face, when I go out for a walk and see sparrows hopping around in empty streets.
