Its a joy watching these sparrows, in such large numbers flying with the wind across the paddy fields.I get to see them almost everyday during my morning walks.

Sparrows used to make their nest in holes like place between pipe and walls instead of trees . If we really want to save them we need to make them box with Hole for them and in Delhi we have not seen them but in our village we are surely do this.

SUDHIR KUMAR - Village Ismailpur Ismailpur Village Jhajjar Haryana

I used to live in this village(Ismailpur) during the time period I mentioned above(1995-1999). When I used to wake up in the morning , It is only due to the chirping of sparrows. A large group of sparrows(50-150) used to come in the courtyard and that because of my Grandmother's practices. She used to feed grains to the sparrows.I always saw them drinking water from a pot kept there by my Grandma with fresh water.Whenever I tried to catch them, they flew away from me and came down 1-2 meters ahead. I saw the sparrows making nests there and hatching eggs in the nests. That time, our old ancestors used to worship them. But now the situation has changed. Our parents hate them and don't want them to make nests in our homes or feed them. As the mobile revolution came, the decline in numbers of sparrows seen is more drastic. And now, when I see , I can see only 3-10 sparrows, just looking for the place where their nests can survive.
