I Created Artificiall Nests with cardboard for Sparrows, they used them for a year to stay, for food, bread etc...
First only 2 Sparrows came in the Nests, after that they become 10 Sparrows, am very happy with them over a year. i & my Little daughter gav food & water every day. Now i moved out Kapil Vastu Bldg.,(Out of Pune). I handed over the sparrow nests to the OWNER to keep gooing.......HOPE THEY R SAFE AGAIN WITH THEM

I have stayed in this locality for several years now, i remember seeing people feed the sparrows in the mornings when i used to wait for my school bus, the birds used to come in large numbers,it was a very pleasant sight. But now a days the only birds I get to see are pigeons, crows and mynas. But yes there have been an increase in the number of other birds, which I do not remember seeing during my childhood days. I do not know the names of these birds , but all are small ones like the size of the sparrows.

i happen to live in one of the most green areas of New Delhi with flora and fauna in abundance .Cantonment is the home for peacocks, pigeons, crows , barbet, kingfisher at times, owl , green pigeon , woodpecker , indian grey hornbill , myna ,eagle but our favourite Sparrow is gone ...just vanished .
I still remember the good old days when Sparrows use to nest in my house and there use to be chirping all day long and i use to feed them .
The probable reasons i can think of their extinction in my area is :
1) no available space for them to nest in the houses as before after renovation of houses .In our quest to build new modern houses we all forgot the Sparrows .
2) mobile antenna's
3) scarcity and availability of food for them ...we have no time for them
i would love to go any far to have them back in my locality once again

I have seen sparrows in large numbers till 2004-2005 but after that there has been sudden decline in the number and rerely seen them . Even if i could trace any there are no more than 2-4 sparrows in the whole area

there are no sparrows in the city and even in the outskirts none can be seen. There are small birds like sparrows but not actually sparrows.
