Sparrows are such gorgeous friends... I love and adore them and miss them very much. As a boy who grew up in a different part of this same town Erode,Thamizh Nadu (up to the age of 10 perhaps), I used to see them flock together in numbers and they were a delight to watch. They would be soon every day and always busy and cute. I had the privilege of watching them searching and gorging themselves on grain spill from gunny bags on Railway platforms (Erode Junction). I had also enjoyed watching them build nests in my tiled home then. With them, I would and could never be lonely ! And without them now, I feel so lonely and lost !
Post Script : I have answered the questionnaire for the brief but present period of 2010 - 2012 by which time I have shifted to Socrates Street (east-west street connecting Rani Street with Raja Street, Sanjay Nagar)and wish to add that I had seen more sparrows in 2010 and see less of them now in 2012 ... After a span of several months of inability to find them by which time I lost all hopes of them seeing them again in my vicinity, it was only a few days back, to my pleasant surprise and sheer delight, I saw 3 of them !
