I got a feeder and nest box from Natureforver. The feeder was unused as I live on ground floor, but the nest box is in use. I got one big nest box which can house 3 families. Sadly, one faces my window, so sparrows dont use that, but the other 2 are always in use. I can hear young chicks chirping for food from my bedroom. The nest box is tied outside the house below a parapet, so there is no problem of rain. We never open that window, so sparrows dont get troubled.
I can see male sparrows collecting material to build nest, so I leave some coconut coir or small pieces of thread for them. Then I can see that the sparrows keep flying to the Ashoka tree and cut tiny fresh leaves and take them into the nest. This is when the chicks hatch from eggs. After that, they start getting flies and other insects. They also love the cooked rice that we put outside and bajra. During summers, they love to drink and bathe in the water bowl I put for them.

I've rarely seen Sparrows in my area, hardly found them. Most of the time my colony is reign by pigeons, whereas the Church and gardens after the petrol pump seems to belong to ravens. Sparrows were always non-existent. However, strangely, at the time of January (or November / December; I forget), there was a nest right outside my window, wedged between two window doors. It seemed to be of some sparrows, the kind of species I've never seen before. I assumed they were of migratory birds and not native, so I allowed the nest. Of course, my parents weren't fine with it, so while I was at work they decided to have the nest removed.
Haven't seen a single sparrow since then.

I feel luck and fortunate to see not just sparrows but many different species and kinds of birds daily around me.My day stars hearing them chirp.
I would like to share an incident ,where i once found a sparrow injured due to some or the other reason it was fortunate that before any other animal could make it a prey i saw it handled with care medicated it fortunately i was able to cure it to some extent when i saw it flying once again that was one of the happiest day of my life.
Another thing i would like to share is in our colony we and our neighbors everyday try to keep some or the other food and water for them.
I feel luck and fortunate to see not just sparrows but many different species and kinds of birds daily around me.My day stars hearing them chirp.
