we have been keeping water and bhajra seeds in two different cups. they come to have breakfast, lunch and evening snacks respectively. father sparrow escorts the chicks to have their food and back to their nest. they stay across our street in a lamp post. they have entered our house to see if they can make new nest around our house. they are still on the lookout. we are planning to hang plastic open hanging pots with some dry grass. we have already bought two terracota platelike with cup for water in the middle trays to hang.

We have large house with lots of open area.
These sparrows often remain ,chirping,etc.
In evening & morning time these chirping loudly with quantity more than sevral hundereds.
these population gradually vanish when one Hawk/eagle/crows starts coming in last few years.
but one & half year these again appear for few months but vanish since last 7~8 months

I see Sparrows daily when I walk for a distance of 2kms from the Main Road to our Residential Colony. On both sides of the road, there is Narapally Forest Area. So, spotting sparrows and listening to their chirping sounds is something I enjoy daily. This area is a haven for Bird Lovers. I get to see so many varieties of birds daily. And sparrows are the ones with which we usually connect. They are a part of our earliest childhood memories. And looking at them resting on the electric wires for a while and flying away makes me so happy. They are such lovely birds!

5 to 6 sparrows daily come to our balcony to eat the food grains given to them and to drink water which we keep only for the birds. not only sparrows even pigeons visit our balcony to eat those grains. We feel very happy when they come and eat their food. Even they look for me if I am not there at home. They call me if I am not there near to the balcony when they come. once they see me they will have their food and go to their home. Daily in the morning while going to college i see them having their food. We dont want them to become extinct and search for food in the heat. so daily without fail we fill their food bowls with different kinds of food grains.

I miss the chirping of the sparrows in early morning, which I used to listen previously. So sweet these birds are. In the midst of our daily heavy work schedule people have forgotton these birds. Few days ago me and my colleague was having tea in my work campus and we both observed that now a days these birds are observed very less and chirping is not heard even.
I found this initiative today on yahoo & hope that these birds do come back. I will help in every means to get these sweet little birds to come back. MISS YOU SPARROWIEEEEE... :( :( :( :(
