House Sparrows were a common sight. People would wake up by Rooster in village, similarly people would know its dawn by the chirping Sparrows. Sparrows nested on vents of houses or trees along road.

Whenever in park or in my house garden we water the plants these birds come always flying in enjoyed water bath even i saw few dancing i.e., spreading wings and turning round. We have kept many watering pots for quenching thirst. Two in my garden and almost one each in every house near park. Every season we have nesting between drain pipes or in ventilators gaps. we watch birds bringing twigs for nest. One fine day i observed even my 3 dogs take care of these birds we often have visits of monkeys and cats in our colony and whenever they pay visit my pets barked too much alerting them even taking care of small eggs which fall down due wind or any reason they sit near it at a small distance and guarding the egg till back in nest.

There is a nest of sparrows above our house. In the kitchen garden we see house sparrows daily. we never spray any pesticide. Whenever we dig field for new cultivation,insects from mud are available for the sparrows, who flock to our kitchen garden in dozens.

I have shifted in this locality in 2010 . I love birds a lot and always keep water and grains for them. but since a long time i dint see any sparrows . During rains ( around Jul - Aug ) some sparrows came but only for 2-3 days. I think because of too much urbanization, noise and pollution they have started living some where else . You cant find them in our houses any more . I cant believe this is happening in front of our eyes . 6-7 years ago they used to come to house to make nests . They were not afraid of human beings . I haven't seen any bird nest since a long time,earlier its was common specially in summer Sparrows used to come to make nests .There is something very serious that's why they have started disappearing and we are yet to discover the true reason behind . We all have to take steps to bring them back to our life otherwise we are going to miss their chirping forever.
