Hawabagh, cantonment area of Jabalpur city Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh
From 3 to 5 Feb 2011 Jabalpur was visited and moved in various parts of it.
Almost in every place the sparrows were seen, less at some place and more at others, Good areas have been mentioned.
Flocks up to 60/70 in evening otherwise stray pairs or small flocks.
6 no nests located in Ghamapur and Tagorenagar area
From 3 to 5 Feb 2011 Jabalpur was visited and moved in various parts of it.

Kondagaon now a distt HQ SH 9 Kondagaon Chhattisgarh
Traversed about 1.5 Km on highway passing through the town and could come across about 60/70 sparrows , in small flocks, either perched or in flight.
This place has been visited many times in the past years and the fall in population is noticeable

Badedonger Tahsil Pharasgaon Bastar Chhattisgarh
Badedonger is these days a Maoist occupied area and no body goes there willfully.
We visited it around 4 PM ON 29 JAN 2011 AND WERE GROSSLY DISAPPOINTED not to see many sparrows, only stray bird here & there , in all about 10/12 were seen
Tribals kill every living thing for food, sparrows are no exception for them

Chitrakote vill and waterfall area Chitrakote vill and waterfall area Jagdalpur Chhattisgarh
Chitrakote vill and waterfall area was visited on 30 Jan 2011.
Water fall is very large about one Km from the residential area.Here few isolated tourist cottages have been constructed.
Only 2 sparrows were seen around a cottage , but in vill area 10/12 birds could be seen , possibly because of noon hours.
However it has come to notice that locals kill and eat sparrows on sizeable scale with the misconception that their flesh has aphrodisiac properties.
This particular matter was highlighted in my ZEE TV interview held earlier.
