Vill Panduka , 26 Km south of Rajim Rajim Chhattisgarh
Panduka has regularly been visited many times in last 4 decades.
Good numbers of sparrows were recorded in past, even in last visit on 2 Jan 2011 about 35 - 40 birds at bus stand area were seen, here also the population has declined about 30 %

Vill Kopra on Gariaband Road Raipur Chhattisgarh
Vill Kopra on Gariaband Road has been visited many time since 1969 and every times sparrows have been seen.
Last visit was on 02 Jan 2011, when 70/80 birds were seen assembled on electricity wire prepratory to roost.
In past nests were seen regularly. Population has fallen down in past 5/6 years to the extent of 30 %
However the sighting in agricultural areas was poor.
Vill Kopra on Gariaband Road has been visited many time since 1969 and every times sparrows have been seen.

Rajim distt Raipur Raipur Chhattisgarh
Rajim has been frequently visited since 1969 and every time good number of sparrows have been recorded.
In visit on 02 Jan 2011, more than 150/160 sparrows were seen along the one Km road.
In a thatched / tiled roof house two active nests were seen.
Overall population reduction to the extent of 25/30 % is noticed.

Nawapara- Town, Raipur Nawapara Nagar Chhattisgarh
Nawapara Town, where I worked for 2 yrs in 1969- 71, and thereafter visited many times, was revisited on 2 jAN 2011.
During drive along more than 1.5 Km of road more than 100/120 sparrows were seen, as usual in flocks.
Birds nests here and even at my residence 3 nests were built,
There exists good population but now depleted by 20/25 % as compared to past.
In surrounded cultivated area fewer birds are seen.
Nawapara Town, where I worked for 2 yrs in 1969- 71, and thereafter visited many times, was revisited on 2 jAN 2011.
