After getting to know about the declining sparrow numbers I set up a bird feeder on my kitchen window .The fist month not a single bird visited the feeder.When we left for a short vacation returned after a week we were surprised to find the bird feeder empty,and a pugnacious male sparrow had brought his full brood (3to4 juveniles) to the feeder.This was in 2010. In a few days we saw 2 to 3 males get their families to the feeder and there was constant bickering between them.Unfortunately in the last 6months we are seeing only one male & a few females.
