Shri.V.D.Bala is a very dedicated forest officer. He in association with Navrang Nature Club is distributing artificial nest boxes in Gujarat for the last couple of years. He has also convinced the farmers of near by villages to grow a lane of juar in their fields and not to cut it, as Sparrows and other birds can feed on them. He distributes around 200 nests in Hingolgadh village and he has reported around 800 House sparrows from this village...

Mr Harshad lives in this society and according to him a very large number of House Sparrows used to roost on the Pipal trees about 10 years back, now after 2003 a new 132 feet ring road has been constructed there, and with that new shops have come up and gone are the Pipal trees and along with them most of the sparrows, he noticed a sparrow nesting in an artificial nest box about a year back...
