Bemcha , Somnath temple, small forest patch 4/5 kms long along the River Sheonath , distt Raipur.

1. A very good place for bird watch, all kind of habitat, residential area, open uncultivated land, grass land , waterbody, many species of endemic & migratory species recorded , in past visits , including sparrows.
2.In this visit about 10/15 sparrows, near temple
Bemcha , Somnath temple, small forest patch 4/5 kms long along the River Sheonath , distt Raipur.

1. Many past visits and sparrows always seen in fairly good nos , 60/80 nos. nests also recorded.
2. In this visit also about 20/30 birds seen along the drive through residential area, market, bus stand etc

This is good news. For the first time I have noticed one feamle sparrow in this area. They could be nesting in the tree near the shops - the shopkeeper says that there used to be more sparrows earlier, now there are just a few.
