Priyanshi- my friend's daughter is 8 years old kid, when she visited our house few weeks back she was curious to see clay nests fixed in our bungalow for Sparrows. She took 3 clay nests to her place and told my friend to fix them up there. She also took "kang" along with it and for the past 4 weeks she made sure that the fresh supply of water and "kang" is provided in their garden even when there were no Sparrows seen in her garden then. Now after one month, this afternoon she called up saying that " Kaka, I have got Sparrows in my garden and one couple has started nesting in"... she was super excited as she had seen House Sparrows for the first time in her life !!!! Incidents like this make us feel that future generation of Sparrows are in safe hands of kids like Priyanshi...

During my short stay at the campus today, I heard chirping of Sparrows and later on saw a male Sparrow sitting on a creeper and chirping loudly, there were wall crevices nearby and I am sure it might be nesting somewhere there. Even though I could spot only 1 Sparrow here, I am sure there would be more inside...

I have been visiting this place for Horse riding, I have never seen Sparrows here..
Date:- 18th May 2012- this evening for the first time we spotted Sparrows there, 3 of them and also we saw a nest in the ventilation of a room, we believe it was a sparrows's nest as they were sitting on a rope opposite to it and were trying to shoo away a Myna that was sitting at the entrance of a nest...
