Beltukri is situated on banks of a big nullah & surrounded by agricultural fields, it is a big vill.
Sparrow flocks of 10/12 were recorrded , in all more than 70/80 birds seen , mostly in residential area

Risdi, Jhagarha & Industrial areas of Korba Korba Chhattisgarh
In these industrial belt very few sparrows were recorded . only stray and occassional birds, as it is also on the outskirts and adjacent to degradede forests.
More visits to assess the status is needed.

Kosabadi area of Korba township Kosabadi, CSEB Colony Korba Chhattisgarh
On 11/12 November 2009, during two days stay came across small flocks of sparrows in thia locality.
Not more than 40-45 birds ,
Korba is very highly polluted town , owing to many big / small power plant and more are in the offing.This factor may be responsible to some extent in lesser no of birds , not only sparrows , in most of township.

I visited a friend in Mysore, residing in this area and was there only for two days (In May 2012). During this time, spotted 2 sparrows. It is unlikely, that I ll be revisiting this place again. If I do, and spot sparrows again, then will report the same here.

Saw two pairs of sparrows. They were nesting in the crevices of stone wall of a building. I have visited the place once and saw them nesting them then.
