A pair of Laughing Doves has prepared a nest in his house and were hatching eggs.

It was noticed on 12 & 13 March 2011 that a male sparrow repeatedly reached the nest and tried to peck the hatching bird with its bill several times, causing disturbance. However th dove did not pay much attention and continued with hatching.

Sparrows persistent behaviour continued next day also but to no effect.

The intentions of the sparrow were a matter of curiosity

Maipat is situated at an altitude of more than 3000 feet and is a rehabilated village for Tibetians.

Stray sparrows , fewer in number , total 20/25 were seen, isolated, in pair or flock of 4/5 .

Ajay visits Ambikapur 2/3 times a year.12/13 March 2011 he was there and moved in different localities of town and observed good numbers of sparrows . Of corse in some areas they were lesser but in others in satisfactory good numbers.

I visted several times this place in 1994/5 and at that time sparrows were abundent.
