I have lived in Tuticorin during my childhood days and then i moved to Ramanathapuram. And now i live in Chennai. I could frequently spot sparrows both in Tuticorin(now Thoothukudi) and Ramanathapuram but there is a complete absence of sparrows in Chennai. But the number of sparrows spotted is considerably low when compared to the number of sparrows spotted a decade ago. If i am asked what is my favorite bird, i would definitely say Sparrow, as i have grown along with their chirps and their sweetness. I am a proud Citizen Sparrow!

On 26 06 2011, brief halt was made at village Math. during half an hour stay many bird species were recorded including 14 nos Asian Open bills flying southwards to roosting place 2 Kms away.
Also present were 25/30 sparrows in scattered flocks in the locality

Highway Garden Dhabha, before Bhandara, NH 6 ,Raipur Rd Highway Garden Dhabha, 10 kms before Bhandara on Raipur Rd Nagpur Maharashtra
We , on our way back to Raipur , made a brief halt at Highway Garden Dhabha on NH -6. Near dusk about 150/200 sparrows were observed congregating on electricity lines , then flew to nearby Mango tree to settle for roost. Time was about 6.00 PM.
It was nice to see such good no of sparrows

Make the nest-box with Pyramid shaped roof. It's very grow up Eggs and juveniles. I have
been used this type of nest-box early at 1994. I was noticed that sparrow's juveniles are
healthy in this boxes. After the breeding season the sparrow's couple don't quit this nest.

Village Pardi area , Raipur Rd, Nagpur Village Pardi on Raipur Rd Nagpur Maharashtra
Three to four times a year I visit Nagpur , mostly by Rd and pass through Pardi on Raipur Rd, close to which is Tansport nagar.
Even though no sparrows are seen within city area but this is one location where sparrows are always seen in varying numbers from 5/6 to 40/50, proclaiming their presence .
On 20 June 2011 about 40 birds seen in stretch of approx a Km
Three to four times a year I visit Nagpur , mostly by Rd and pass through Pardi on Raipur Rd, close to which is Tansport nagar.
