Daily , when I pass through this locality , sparrows are always seen, numbers varying from 10/15 to 60/70, sitting on electricity lines, along with other bird species.
These birds must be nesting inside jail, where suitable nesting facility is available

Sparrows seem to perch within bushes & Lantana thickets during most of the day, possibly to escape heat. Can easily be seen foraging on ground early in morning

Afew years earlier many small and large trees and open fields were present in this part, but a state highway was built and new hoses were constructed. Gradually the number of sparrows decreased but many other birds like crows, mainas and bulbuls are seen frequently

I don't need an alarm clock. They wake me by 5.15-5.30 in the morning to let me know that it is their breakfast time. I toss out two handsfull of bird seed and usually also a piece of bread or a chapati which I have torn to small bits
..............too small to interest the local crows !
