we visited thamaraipuzha on our journey to calicut
we stopped for Lunch and where I observed about 20 sparrows
closly with us..its a somewhat large size Hotel area with ordinary soil,where these birds were feeding.

The IARI, Pusa campus houses a large number of birds (sparrows, parrots, eagle, etc. One must walk the road in front of the Division of Plant Pathology during the dusk to see the chirping birds. The tree leaves can be seen white washed with their droppings. At the same time walking along the Sindhu guest house road in the same campus, a look at the tree tops, can showcase an entirely different species (brownish,big "saras" like bird. Moving towards the agricultural fields these saras like birds and eagles are an usual sight.

Just last year, two pairs were living inside my house. They used to sit on the iron rails that supports the roof. One pair was on the first floor another was on the ground floor. Apart from these few sparrows were regularly seen during early morning. However, this year I rarely spotted one.
