1.In evening all common birds seen flying to their roosts across the stadium locality , in pretty good numbers, House crows-172 nos, Cattle Egrets -130 nos, Assian Pied Starling -more than 500 nos, Barn Swallows - more than 60 nos, but not a single HOUSE SPARROWS SEEN.

1,Total birds seen in evening hrs - 258 nos.

2.Both male & female seen collecting dry grass & cotton.

3.Both male & female showed keen anxiety towards a closely perched Common Babbler, which incidently was holding a 4 Inch long grass straw, was that the cause of anxiety.

1.Total 167 sparrows counted in evening.
2.Mating observed, male mounted continously for 18 times,only 8 successful.

1, A pair seen collecting nesting materials.

1. Mating ; male mounted 10 times ,50 % failures.
2. A male attempted , hovering like behaviour, for 3/4 seconds.

1.Out of the 5 sparrows feeding , one female suddenly attacked a male and drove it away.

1. Female bringing grass straw to reinforce the nest.also on 21 July .

1. A male brought a dead black coloured,
winged insect about 12/15 mm long, finding it rather difficult to manouvre, managed & flew, it was near to a wasp in identification.

Dt 25 July 2006.
1, Three eggs found on floor below the nest in our house.One got broken and showed a half developed feutus , wings visible.

Dt 13 August 2006.
1.A male in vigorous persuit of a Chestnut Bittern.

2.Mating observed, male mounted 11 times, 5 failures.

1. A female observed feeding a subadult chick.

Dt 04 Sept 2006.

1.A male sparrows attempted feeding on a half dry Drumstick flower, lying on ground., which it finally collected and flew.

1.Chased away a Chestnut Bittern to considerable distance.

2.Rock Pigeon was given tough time and chased away to more than 200 mts, all flying skills of pigeon tested.

1.Male indulged in act of display to a female, with drooping wings, raised tail & associated calls

1.Female brought about 4/5 inches long grass straws, repeatedly, to already existing nest, obviously to reinforce it, as chick inside it

1. Sand bath by two pair of sparrows , in evening hrs.

1. Recent rianfall caused large scale emergence of winged insects, many of them lost their wings. Flock of sparrows in morning hour , on locating them lying on floor, profously fed on them and even tried aerial capture. Females more active.
