I saw a nest of Sparrow in my window. There were two baby sparrows in the nest with mother. They grew there and flew away.
But now a days the number of Sparrows are declining....

The area could have easily supported hundreds of sparrows, but I guess the following are the reasons for such a small sparrow presence:
1.The college campus nearby is much more attractive for nesting.
2.Foraging opportunities are great in the adjacent paddy fields.
3.The quarters area was dominated by mynahs and jungle babblers among other birds.

My grandparents' big house had so many ventilator windows and there used be nests in every one of them. We loved the birds. But, once a sparrow got killed by the ceiling fan blade and I was feeling so sad I still remember it.

last year i have got one plastic pot specially made for sparrows to eat & drink form bohari muslims program. when i have kept grains for sparrows last year it takes one month to finish that half kg of grains.
last week my wife put grains & water for sparrows. amazingly she told me that within two to four days the whole grains was finished by sparrows. she seen 5 to 8 sparrows feeding on that at a time. she tried to photograph them but she was not able to make it.
