Our house is an SMB (stabilized mud blocks) house and we have a bamboo grove and a couple of mango trees within our house compound. Suddenly,
in the month of Feb or March 2012, some sparrows started coming into our bamboo grove. I have been seeing them since 2005 (since we came to this place) near the two temples in the centre of the village which is just about 100-200 meters from our house. Bur now, they have again disappeared (say since 2nd week of April 2012) from our bamboo grove, though they are still there in the village center (near the two temples).

So many sparrows observed at noon, right in the middle of the vegetable market. Several of them fearlessly came to sit on mounds of vegetables set up by vendors and the sparrows fearlessly chose to feast on fresh "Pavta", beans, peas etc. They did not mind the swing in the vendors scale and the vendors too did not mind the sparrows ocassionally picking up a few fresh beans, peas etc. What I opbserved on 05-04-2012 was most of them were males

2 years ago there was more than 60 sparrows. Now a days only a few sparrows are available. Everyday we provide them food and water. we have kept sparrow nest too. we are very sad of reducing sparrows.

My wife feeds them grain and water regularly. They are frequent visitors and are perfectly comfortable around our busy households. So much so that occasionally they are comfortable to the extent of mating !
