I have been lucky to have sparrows around me since childhood. their number was going down a few years ago..around 2007-08.. that was the time me and a few friends decided to get them back. we installed sparrow homes in my locality and they have been using their new homes since then and the population has increased too. i have 4 regular breeding homes for sparrows just around my house and many more natural homes like roofs etc in the nearby locality. I am very happy to see so many people giving support to my favourite bird. I would be happy to be of more help if needed.

It was around 11:00 am .I heard sparrow sound . I looked everywhere but there was nothing. I just came out from chair and luckily found that it was below the chair. i took the little sparrow to the corridor . there were 3 different ways for sparrows to come inside. front, back and upper side. As we had lot of sparrows i was unsure about the direction of it's parents. So I kept it in corridor and waited. after sometime from right side , i saw its parents calling him . and i was confirmed about the direction .As the window was somewhat at height, i kept the baby sparrow in window. It gone out and landed safely on ground, as the ground had small grass and bushes due to rainy season .After half an hour, with other sparrows it got familiar outside .

I would like to share and clarify that whenever i used to visit darbar sahib I got to see fairly large number of sparrows every time chirping on two particular trees inside the complex which even had religious sanctity..it was like reliving my childhood when all this a part my own household but alas now i happen to see tham back home once in a while..
how much i want this melody to come back to my neighbourhood..
miss those little cute things which were the first birds my mom introduced me to..and around whom my definition of chidiya(chidi as it is said in punjab) revolved for long..
I would like to share and clarify that whenever i used to visit darbar sahib I got to see fairly large number of sparrows every time chirping on two particular trees inside the complex which even had religious sanctity..it was like reliving my childhood when all this a part my own household but alas now i happen to see tham back home once in a while..

a baby sparrow spotted on staircase of our building. almost grown up. But no matured sparrows spotted nearby. It was making sound sometimes but no answer from its parents. It was a time of evening, so i kept it on upper staircase and closed terrace door to protect from night enemies which I dont know about . I looked at 11:00 pm and in the morning, it was still there, sitting in a corner. As we have lot of crows also I decided to keep it out after around 10:00 am, as at this time crows go to different places . As planned i took it to the ground when i noticed some sparrows nearby and no crow. It immediately mixed with their group. Monitored the situation for about half an hour, it was all safe for the new bird sparrow.
