We used to see many sparrows in the eighties and nineties. The sparrows had a nest in a tree in front of our house and used to sit on our verandah. They used to eat only fresh boiled rice and rejected any leftovers. It is very sad to see them gone now though the tree cover has improved.

The reporting time is all after dark. I usually see them when I go to the Market or a stroll in old residential areas. Time I see them 10 - 12AM and 4 - 6.
