Observations
1.Whenever flocks of Cattle Egrets, Asian Pied Starling Rose Ringed Parakeets and Common Myna, pass over the localit , going to roost, in evening hours , they are immediately followed by the sparrows present and would chase them for 100-150 feet , then would return back.
2.Flocks of Myna & Parakeets are invariably accompanied by sparrows, these shuld be the birds chasing them from other localities.
3. On 18 Jan 2007, at Mainswitch box, where earlier a brood was raised, again mating was observed, male mounted 9 times 4 failures. thereafter male entered the old nest, followed by female.

Hospital area, Bathena ,Dhamtari Dhamtari Chhattisgarh
On 22 Jan 2007, during a days spent at Dhamtari as many as 200 sparrows could be seen , more in bus stand and Mission hospital area.
In last visit on 22 April not more than 60/70 were seen , may be due to summer season.
But dhamtari & surroundings afford good bird life,

Chherikhedi Tank & vill, NH 06, Near RAIPUR Raipur Chhattisgarh
On 20 Jan 2007, afternoon vill & tank were visited.
More than 120/30 sparrows observed congregating to roost on small trees in residential area.
More at tank , quenching thirst before going to roost about 10-15 nos.

Lagarge Cement plant & township, near Akaltara Akaltara Chhattisgarh
Lafarge Cement plant residential colony area was traversed through on 6 Jan 2007 , more than 70/80 sparrows, scattered, in flocks recorded, in drive of more than a Km , suggesting presence of fairly good population. Present status as reported by Mr Dichson ( April - 2012 ), indicates decine, he could record not more than 20/25 birds.
At Kotmisonar very few sparrows , not more than 5/6 only, as per Mr Dichson, in April 2012.
