In 15 months, the only two sparrows I observed in the city of Jalandhar were near Garha. That was one day. Although I went back to the same spot several times after that, I never spotted sparrows.

My friend Usha had put up couple of nest boxes in her house, few weeks back, and now she has a sparrow couple nesting in one of the nest box for the past few days...!!!

Jamshedpur is my home. I was born here and it's a place where I spent the first 18 years of my life. I remember seeing the little birds almost every day - pecking on particles of food,or clutching a small piece of twig or hay between its beaks looking forward to build its nest, or walking on the ground or simply flying.
When I moved to Bangalore 4 years back, I realised that one of the things that I missed about my hometown were these little creatures. I havent seen a single sparrow here!

We had a House sparrow nest in our home on the terrace where we used to keep unused things as well as used to store grocery in the store room. we also heard chirping sound of the babies and we everyday used to see the couple feed the babies.
They used to come to our kitchen and sit, observing for something to eat or gather for the babies.
we were so fond of them that we always tried not to disturb them with noise. Soon we had another nest in the house.
