Sector 47 in Noida is a gated community- and like most places in Noida, there is great diversity of bird life that one can observe. Commonly seen - apart from the myna, pigeons and crows - are kingfisher, green bee-eater, drongos, koel and of course sparrows. Sparrows are increasingly less common but there are few who are trying to get a family going in our house in one of the lampshades. Hopefully soon there will be more of them

We had just moved to Mira road in the year 2000. I used to see at-least 7 to 10 sparrow in my window & on the road. but after say 3 to 4 years ie around 2005. I m hardly able to see the sparrow. & i even noticed that the counting of pigeons are also declining. Kindly do some thing. During the period of 2004-2004 i saw at-least 3 to 5 nest in our window grill but now no sparrow & no nest. Our area was a developing residential as well as commercial area.

Two types of birds made their nest in our house.
One is the Red vented Bulbul and the other is scaly breasted Munia. I have written about them and you can read it here:
