I always try to observe thier presence by their cheppring / Sound and then try to locate them. Often see the place and tree where they geather or usually rest in for the night. Love them love there sound; it reminds me of my childhood memories when I use to see them more often and in large numbers. It is a great stress buster for me. What worries me is loud sounds of any nature which disturbe the sparrows.
Last is Water and food avablity which is serious issue in polluted cities like Delhi. Let us all do our best to save sparrows, for our future genrations.
Thanks

Davinder Pal Singh - Netaji Shubash Palace Wazirpur Depot, Ring Rd New Delhi Delhi

I worked in Netaji Shubash Palace and after lunch around 2 o'clock I along with my office colleagues used to pass that area for a quick short walk. There were a lot of small bushes (they were cut in early February, I think) and very great number of sparrows were there. Often I would spot around 20-30 sparrows and their chirping sound. Now only 2 months ago after cutting of the bushes, I am seeing a sudden decline in the number of sparrows but still I can spot around 10 to 15% nests there.

Garima - India Colaba Mumbai Maharashtra

We have a large area covered with trees and shrubs in this colony, there are lot of crows, pigeon, falcons, parakeets, barbets etc. but I have observed sparrows only near one of the buliding where they build nest and stay all day within around 50 mtrs in nearby bushes, I haven't seen sparrows higer up in any of the trees.

I still live in that area. We have an open grass field besides our colony. Sparrows almost daily come to the colony.
