There was time when sparrows had there own nest at my house that way back somewhere in 2002-05, when i was doing my schooling. My sister and i used to keep this shoe boxes in balcony and they used to make their nest in it. But now it is not the same i feel so sad for them.
I recently saw it in my church compound which is in Masoba Maidan Kalyan (W). And i also remember we have this big tree in our area near sampada hospital where these sparrows used to chirp a lot during evening.

For the last 3-4 years, sparrows visit the lemon tree in our backyard only during winters. Rest of the year, they are nowhere to be seen. Whereas earlier, they were present the whole year, probably some had nests in the lemon tree as well, since their morning chirping was a constant feature.

i resided in mayur vihar phase-1 (pocket-3) since birth. i remember before year 2000, we used to keep water and seeds for sparrows. they used to come on time in huge clusters in the evening to get the feed. I guess they dsiappeared when the pollution levels shooted in delhi around 1996 untill the cng drive started. never seen a sparrow post that even though delhi is again greener. we do have lot many of other birds and small animals around but no sparrows. Sigh!

There is a pair of sparrows (male and female) that usually comes into the utility area of my house and stay in the corners of the house. They are visible occassionally.
