Sparrows have always come for the grains that neighbors strew on the road in front of our building. It's a pleasure to watch them, especially since their numbers seem to have declined over the years.

Just yesterday, two sparrows decided to pay us a visit home. Our balcony door is always open, and these two flew in and made themselves comfortable on the couch. Sitting at the dining table a few feet away, my son and I observed the sparrows as they chirped and searched the room - looking for a suitable place to build a nest perhaps.

They flew off to the sound of hurried footsteps, but i do wish they'd visit again, and stay a little longer next time. I'll have some refreshments waiting!! :)

Umesh Oza - Khese Park Lohegaon Pune Maharashtra

There are a lot of birds in our area, including sparrows, due to the presence of large number of trees in the Air Force area as well as Khese Park. The birds come in multiples to eat whatever is kept for them and to drink water. It feels really good to see birds all around.

Amit Kulkarni - residential area Golvalkar Guruji Path, Aranyeshwar Nagar, Parvati Darshan Pune Maharashtra

I have not seen Sparrow from last two year in my residential area. I have kept water filled pots and some food(seeds) in my balcony so that atleast for that sparrows will use to come here. But there is no result for this.

Ajit Karve - Whizz Kids School, Sahyadri Park Society, Salunke Vihar Road, Kondwa, Pune Kubera Colony, Mohamadwadi Pune Maharashtra

I take a walk on the street from 6-6:30 to 7-7:30 in the evening. I hear a lot of sparrows chirping soon after sun set. I was wondering how the single tree on which they are nesting can be protected by law from being pruned or cut. Because sparrows have completely vanished from our area over past seven years though there is adequate tree cover.
