It is joyous for me to observe sparrows at this spot. Some were trying to build their nest in the sapce behind shutters of shops. I have given two wooden nest box to the shop keepers and I am going to observe if they accept the nest box as nesting spot.

i feel that gradually sparrow are finding it very difficult to survive specially seeing the rapid expansion of cities along with their horizontal developments. but they too have got the wayout , to certain extent,in even small green patches maintained in individual household. we need to be a little more 'humane' in a way not to feel disturbed if they attempt to co-exist with us i.e. their un-natural habitat of concrete blocks.their sound in the morning really sounds refreshing, their all activities-love, fight, nesting, feeding etc everything gives me feeling of being really in the lap of the nature ,though i live in the heart of the city, all surrounded by a concrete jungle.i remember my childhood when there were so many of these birds omnipresent, all arround us. i,with my friends used to even catch them, colour them and let them free.and then onwards, everyday while seeing that coloured bird-yelling -my..... bird......It was such a fantastic relationship which is not enjoyed by the kids now. sparrows were part of our life, as a routine, daily a erthen pot, full of water was kept for them in summers.i feel we need to be sensitized to protect their natural habitats and again develope a healthy relationship with our old childhood pals.
