During stay from 25 to 28 Dec 2008, very few sparrows 5/10 nos were seen in FRH campus and surroundings.
In adjacent villages also no of sparrows were less in numbers , nowhere abundant. so also was the status of wildlife in general, badly destroyed by local tribals.
They eat every thing , including vultures, which they stated is a delicacy for them.

Mission compound, Mahasamund town Mahasamund Chhattisgarh
Mission compound of Mahasamund town was visited for 2 hours on 21 Nov 2008.
Sparrows about 130/40 nos were seen , 5/6 Nest 4 active, rest inactive were located in compound.
It was learnt that large nos roost within the compound, regularly.

Darshansthan, vill Paragaon , on bank of River Mahanadi, Raipur distt Arang Chhattisgarh
Within the campus and in surroundings, of Darshansthan, situated on bank of river Mahanadi and about one Km from the residential area of vill, Paragaon, sparrows were seen 70/80 nos everyday , during stay of 3 days from 21 to 24 Nov 2008,
In residential area of Paragaon, about 80/90 birds recorded daily.
Also 2 nests in a small house in vill. active.
Within the campus and in surroundings, of Darshansthan, situated on bank of river Mahanadi and about one Km from the residential area of vill, Paragaon, sparrows were seen 70/80 nos everyday , during stay of 3 days from 21 to 24 Nov 2008,

In kodari , along the residential area on road , about 50/60 sparrows recoded during stay of an hour.
It was nice to see them , as no sparrow was seen in last 3/4 days in NAGPUR city .

On 10 Nov 2008, in a stay of an hour, more than 70/80 sparrows seen, in scattered parties , perched or in flight.
Earlier also sparrows recorded every time, though varying in numbers.
