Been living in this location from past 8 years. Have seen a lot of parakeets, eagles, pigeons and crows but sparrows are a real rare sight. Initial years I did see a few sparrows nesting on top of this huge tamarind tree. Sadly the tree is no more and so are the sparrows. When I do see them during dusk its less in number.

these little birds used to live in our homes as our own family members. we use to offer food them first, before we eat. these birds had their nest in the hole of the wall of our house and also on the ventilation windows and higher unused shelves.

In our roof top garden they eat the young saplings of various plants, seeds of basil plant. They, usually two in number, come to our balcony and sleep at night frequently. They almost spend the whole day in our plants in groundfloor.

I have befriended these little birds, I have started to offer them food. These birds usually come to my window and chirp to remind me about their food...
