The area i'm reporting about is an industrial area with a large Number of Manufacturing units and ISPAT(steelplant).
However,it also has a lot of trees, flowering as well as fruit as well as surrounding Farms and village.
i have observed Sparrows at my workplace which is a Manufacturing unit with open curing watertanks. There they can be spotted often along with an exiting array of other birds like kingfishers, herons, bulbuls etc. as well as a variety of butterflies and insects.
I have also spotted themon a recently, though badly constructed kalmeshwar bypass road which runs through agricultural farms
though the industrial area is busy during the day, it virtually emptys by evening. there are also a number of tanks, wells and even bordering farms and large open spaces.
This is the opposite of the residential picture with dense closely packed houses, longer cellular and wi-fi usage, cemented courtyards and covered water-reservoirs.
I hope this information helps your initiative..

I have a lot of plants around my house and may be this is the reason why I can still find sparrows around my house though the number has declined significantly. They come to my house for water and my pet's leftover food. I just love watching and feeding though they fly away as soon as they notice me around.
