Madhuban is a Police campus with lots of trees, grasslands and and a canal running by. While the place used to have lots and lots of House Sparrows in the Eighties, I have not seen one sparrow in the area in the period reported upon, in spite of specifically looking for them. Even Karnal and Kurukshetra too have very little sparrow population

The Agricultural Produces Mandi has a very large number of sparrows throughout the year. The Bus Stand, market and residential areas also have a healthy number of sparrows. Sparrows can also be seen in the agricultural fields and along the canals in the rural area.

Though Sector 17, Faridabad comprise entirely of newly developed RC construction of houses and shops, the sparrow population is healthy in the whole area. Everytime one gets out of house, one sees at least four five of them on the streets, on wires and trees. There has been no appreciable decline in the numbers in the past five years or so.

During 1986 to 1989 I stayed there. It is a residential quarter area built for employees working in Govt. offices in forest area. Very rarely I found sparrows. The houses constructed were single storeyed small quarters. No nests I found that time. But daily in the morning times I used to see chirping one or two.
