Siddhi Laad - Siddhachal Phase - 1 Thane West Thane Maharashtra

House Sparrows are declining rapidly. They cause no harm to us even if they frequently come and sit on our windows. To help sparrows survive I keep some food grains and water in small containers on my window. A lot of sparrows come there everyday and I enjoy seeing these little birds. They remain a part of nature but at the same time I consider them as my own birds. This gives me the pleasure of having birds as well as a temporary home for those little sparrows.

Archna GOVIL - Jalvayu Towers, Sec 47 Sector 48 NOIDA Uttar Pradesh

I woke up every morning for a few days by the chirping of a pair of sparrows that were trying to build a nest in the little hole( for a fan connection)in the ceiling of our verandah. But they did not seem to complete the nest ot lay eggs coz I did not see them after those few days. This area was full of pigeons. Saw peacocks occasionally but the sighting of these too declined over the years.

The complex we live in is a high rise and has just been completed. The sparrows that I have sighted were in the shrubs/bushes along the periphery. They seemed to be collecting material for building a nest.
