I would definitely like to share my views on House Sparrows. I love these small birds, when i was small and use to woke up early in the morning I saw them but nowadays they are rare. I always notice sparrows. This January I went to Bikaner, Rajasthan and was very happy to see sparrows in large number, chirping in the streets, I even clicked some of there pictures. last week I went to my aunt's house in Paschim Puri, Delhi and I rejoiced by seeing two sparrows fighting/playing.
I love this small and beautiful creation of God and wish that others also join hand in contributing in whatever way they can for House Sparrows.

In my residential place not only sparrows but other birds like Mina, Parrot, Koyal,etc are observed due to many fruit bearing trees are around. Sparrows has it nest in the cielings of my house. Recently I have placed a Nest and Feeder Unit from Nature forever soceity, and now many sparrows feed from the feeder which is filled everyday. Well, I have been reading and observing over the past few years that sparrows are gradually declining in number. But in the past one year, I have observed them again in decent numbers in our locality. They seem to be recovering in our area. I see them on the paved ground below and on the ground covered with soil mixed with cement and fine debris. They seem to be bathing in these soil/cement patches.
I also see sparrows nowdays on the "Gokarn" climber in our balcony and also on the trees and shrubs around our building and in the premises of surrounding buildings.
I also here their chirping occassionaly during the day and especially prominent in the early mornings.
About a year ago I saw a crow carrying away a juvenile sparrow in its beak.
