Sargaon, 26 Km from Bilaspur on Raipur road Bilaspur Chhattisgarh
Sargaon was known for good birds life and particularly for Sparrows & Bank Mynas, over the past 3 decades, which were recorded in every visit.
These days Bank Mynas have almost gone, only stray bird or two seen.
Sparrow population has declined sizeably, As against 120/ 150 birds seen in past in market area these day , even one come across 20/30 birds he must feel satisfied

Duggipar on NH 06, Gondia distt Duggipar Maharashtra
While we drove from Nagpur to Raipur, could not come across many sparrows, which are generally seen along the Highway.
In fact only two could be seen in open areas, other than village.
Two birds were seen 2 Kms before vill Duggipar on the edge along with 2 Common Mynas.
May be due to heat of the day

Devendranagar & other areas of Raipur city Devendra Nagar Raipur Chhattisgarh
In Raipur city the day temperature touched 43 -0C and days became very hot , to move out.
The heat restricted the birds activities too, they mostly confided to shelter in noon.
Still few species like Laughing Doves,Rock Pigeon , Common Myna & House Sparrows, were active, though not in many numbers.
This was observed by me in Devendranagar colony on 07 April 2010, when day temp was 43-0C

In Feb 2010, species like Semal, was in bloom and it attracted many kind of birds to feed on nectar.
Sparrows were also recorded feeding on nectar of Semal flowers

Many visits paid in last 3 decades and sparrows recorded, but sadly not a single bird could be seen on 26 02 2010 .in places where these were located earlier.
