Large flocks were disappeare.Group contain 50-70 were observed frequently.Nests were also observed near the market place and shop near the streets.

Few Sparrows seen inside the Airport building frequenting the food court areas. These birds appeared malnourished and not exactly sparrow like in appearance. Seemed to be losing out on their feathers.

The presence of House Sparrow alarmingly low.one or two individuals rarely observed near the market place and peroorkada junction.No nests were recorded during this period.The shop owners put earthen pots near the market place.Nesting is not success during this period.Conservation activities is needed in this place to retain or conserve house sparrows of this region

Residential colony with parks Indira Nagar Colony Lucknow Uttar Pradesh
I have a small open area near my bedroom.I usually have my breakfast and lunch in my bed room.one day my father noticed that during our breakfast time few birds use to sit on the boundry wall of open area. So he took some pieces of bread and place them near the wall. within 30mins 1 sparrow came to eat those pieces but only once. we were happy to see that 1 sparrow. from that day we started keeping some foodgrains, pieces of chapati and small part from whatever we eat everyday, we also kept some water for them. within 2 weeks the no. of birds increased to near about 5 and their visits were about 3-5 per day.
Soon we noticed that a pair of sparrow were preparing nest at our bathroom ventilation opening which is at a distance about 20-25feet away from the open area.
Its been approx 8 yrs and still those birds live in the same nest and today the no. of birds increased to 4-6 birds in summer and 5-8 birds during winters and their visits are lot more than previous.

Usually see a group of house sparrows busy scouting for food grains around ground floor and many of the balconies with potted plants and kitchen utility spaces. Saw a nest, now unused neatly tucked away behind an electricity junction box in the staircase wall of my studio/ colony building.
