last year,for few months, there was no sign of sparrows.me and my family was very concerned about these birds mysterious disappearance.my maternal grandfather believed, mobile tower radiation caused this problem.but in November 2011, one day i noticed a group of sparrows, around15-20,was flying around my neighborhood.since that day onward,i see them daily and also noticed a nest in my neighbor's house wall.my family, especially grand paa, was very happy to see these little birds back. i also clicked one picture of sparrows,around 9, sitting in a group.but picture isn't so clear but i 'll try to get some good pics of these birds in future..

I have been fully aware of the dwindling population of sparrows in a city like Mumbai. Almost 6 months ago, I used to see very few sparrows perching on the balcony and the kitchen area of our Flat which is on the top floor; understandably they were on the lookout for food and a place to perch away from other predatory birds. We then decided to get a bird house installed on the kitchen grill and from that day onwards it became a daily routine to feed the sparrows’ bajra and also we have placed a bowl of water next to the bird house. Today we can see that this group of sparrows has increased and they visit our kitchen many times a day – although they seem to be disinterested in building a nest in the bird house – they definitely use it as a feeding place. I will continue to do my bit in order to see their population bounce back.

Sparrows where like our nature's alarm for us. when we were children, their chippings & their melodious voice use to make our morning happy.I still remember these tiny bird use to come to our windows flying inside our lobby,even some times they use to fly inside our house looking for food & playing near the tap in still water, It was all ways fun watching & trying to catch them, sometimes even they are so friendly they actually come near to you if have something to eat in our hands.these memories are so cheerful. I hope even our children will get to see & enjoy the nature best & tiny little GOD creation, & learn some thing from them.
I urge to save these little creation of GOD.
