There was a small tree on which sparrows usually live, but since the tree is on vacant DDA land, people capture the land to organise religious function (Bhagavd Gita and all). And for this purpose they chop down the tree and then I could see no more sparrows there.

we have noticed sparrows in the last two years suddenly our Sophia college garden has many of them now. But no breeding has been noticed.I will inform my students to keep a watch. In Thane westwe I reside also in my building garden sparrows are breeding in large numbers.

At one time my Mother and Grand mother would place rice in balcony for drying and sparrows would come eat play. Today to my son who is 10 years old I have taken him to Bangalore International Airport were some sparrows fly around inside waiting terminal to show what sparrows are, may be very soon we will have to go to a zoo or show them only in photos this is very alarming!
