I used to go to school and hated getting up early in the morning, those days! It was mostly summers that I remember distinctly. The first thing I used to get up in the mornings was the chirping birds... in my neighbour's tree!
Like making such a rustle... early morning.. was around 6!
Used to wave them bye everyday I left for school!
I haven;t seen sparrows for a long while now.
I wonder if my children are only going to read about them.

A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO MY HUSBAND CAME AND TOLD ME TO COME ALONG WITH HIM FOR AN EARLY MORNING WALK TO HEAR THE BIRDS CHIRPING. THE NEXT MORNING I REALIZED I COULD HEAR THE BIRD RIGHT AT HOME . IT MADE ME FEEL SO GALD , AS IN THIS CONCRETE JUNGLE ON DOES NOT GET TO HEAR BIRDS. ON CHECKING I FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY SPARROWS ON A TREE IN THE PARK OPPOSITE OUR HOUSE.

We visited Kodadha Camp site in Little Rann of Kutchh in February this year, and it was wonderful to see around 100 House Sparrows there, constantly chirping and flying around the camp site.

I am born & brought-up in Kharagpur.In our childhood we used to see so many sparrows(group of 10-50)in our locality.We used to enjoy their sand-bathing and meeting on the rooftop before sunset!But last 10-12 yrs we had not see any sparrows.Now,very rarely two to three sparrows are visible.Is it due to pollution or anything else?How can we help this poor creature?

My son Mudit and wife Zankhana were passing by this old market of Ahmedabad and they saw around 200 of them there. It was a one time observation.
