Before this period i could see many sparrows and their chirping in the morning ,but suddenly the numbers got lowered and they all just disappeared like they dint exists.
I read it somewhere that mobile towers caused this... ans yes there are many mobile towers in this area.
i have not seen any sparrows ,nor their chirping in these 4-5 months...hope they will return again...

Its kind of a market place but there are few houses Jamnagar Gujarat
It was my childhood home and I remember we use to see a lot of sparrows. I don't know if there are any sparrows left in that area as I haven't been there in long time.

No doubt that sparrows have an important role in ecosystem..as they are omnivoures they can feed on both insects and grains. In urban areas they are very helpful in checking growth of various seasonally occuring insects. Beside their ecologcally important role it is really nice to see their various activites such as making nests, feeding their young ones and sometimes their funny dance :-)At morning time it is really good to listen their sweet twitter. Some times they create trouble for us...coz at the time of nesting they often choose a place like tubelites, fans, over flow pipes, windows etc and deposit various types nesting materials. :-)
