Suresh Chaudhari - Tikona Park Mahanagar Mahanagar Colony Lucknow Uttar Pradesh

I live in front of a park called Tikona Park in Mahanagar area of Lucknow. I see sparrows almost everyday in my house. There are two active nests in my house. I have planted many trees on the boundary of the park. I have spotted not only sparrows but about 55 species of birds in a year. I think if you provide shelter and food for birds they will come.
Best wishes for conservation of sparrows.

My mother puts some rice and other bird feed on the boundary wall of our house every other day.I saw a male sparrow like a year ago feeding on that feed, it was really great view specially when we rarely get to see the sparrow. I have not seen sparrows in my locality since 6-7 months.

VILAS GADKARI - 50, Dakshinamurty Residency, Next to Pratham Enclave Vadodara Gujarat

Before 1-2 years, no sparrows were observed. But now-a-days, we observe sparrows everyday during whole day. Since childhood, I am very fond of sparrows. Earlier, at our old residence in the heart of the city Vadodara, we were observing sparrows daily in our small garden & in our house also. But then for many years, we were unable to see the sparrows. Now, in our current residence, we observe sparrows from 1-2 years. And, now-a-days, we observe sparrows daily during almost whole day in our garden, verandah etc. We have also kept earthen pot with water at 1-2 places where sparrows drink water regularly.

Dipak Sawant - Chakrapani Vasahat it is a residential colony with mainly small individual houses. Akshay Colony, Bhosari Pimpri Chinchwad Maharashtra

The area I am reporting above was a newly developing residential colony surrounded by open grassland with few acacia trees in landscape. The sparrows used to roost in large numbers on these trees at night. I have frequently seen sparrow nests in hollows in unplastered walls. Today, no. of sparrows in this area has gone down considerably. The reason I see is no more trees around to roost at night and all the houses are plastered with no hollows to nest.
