When my dad was growing up around these areas and my home, My Dad used to feel them as annoying my studies in the morning, annoying to my Grandma because they used to peck the dry fruits kept to dry in the Varandah.
I was born in USA in 1997, stayed in USA till 2011 November. I saw PLENTY of Sparrows in Detroit, they even survive COLDEST and HARSHEST winters in Detroit, they all look Pluffy in Winter and make some noise around bushes around homes.
It was reminding all of us, how to make fun even in harsh and depressing 5 months winter time in Detroit.
But it is very depressing to learn they are all gone virtually in Cities and concrete jungles in Hyderabad, even in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
By some means Indian Population need to be reduced to 1/3rd of current level for not only Sparrows, but for whole world and entire living creatures/Plants/trees.

Once my house had lots of sparrows and its nests due to the fact that my house has more than 10-15 trees. When I was a kid I used to sparrows in groups of 20-25. Now when I go home I could hardly see sparrows. Very few of them in my vicinity. The early morning chirping of sparrows made my wonderful day but now when I wake up I can only try to listen to something other than vehicles roaring around.

in my hometown nagpur, it was not uncommon for us to have sparrows partake food kept outside for them especially --- infact they made it a habit to visit window sill to look around 4 food n it was a delight to have them with us .

I observe A group sparrows cherping away as if to welcome the dawn, between 6am to 7am just outside my house flower tree.It is a joy listining to them .
There is a nest permanently built & rebuilt throught the year just outside our kitchen ventillator.There is great joy observing them .

I used to like sparrows as a child but now as a grown up I miss them.In my lifetime I have seen maximum sparrows in salasar ji temple in rajasthan(visited last year) where during aarti there are more sparrows on trees then leaves and they all leave as aarti finish.I truely cherish the scene.
I have also heard that near jama masid there are people who for their vested interests mishandle the birds(including sparrows,if they are any more).
So I request you people to please take action against all the factors involved in extinction of these innocent birds.
