sukeshni - backmarket Medical College Rd, Dhankawadi Pune Maharashtra

Hello,
Ahmednagar is my hometown where i use to see many sparrows all the time while i was in school (till 2007) but after that the nest that were there were not there all birds went, went never to comeback. Observed this and told many of my friends but no one was interested, all laughed but now we all can try our best to find out the way out and all the best to all contributing to the deed. Would love to have the olden days back with many sparrows chirping all around.

Since I got interested in Birdwatching ( summer 2011) I motivated my students to feed the birds. We kept bird feed in the school campus and watched how sparrows along with some other bords would come to feed on the grains.
My students loved feeding the birds and for me this was a little way in which i could perhaps sentitize my students to care for our environment.
It is a joys to see the little sparrows feeding on the grains sometimes alone and many times in company!!

chubby - 1 st Road Area Bandra West Mumbai Maharashtra

The resident pair drops in daily! Though the area is a territory previously claimed by the white-throated fantail (rhipidura albicollis) for over 10 years now, they coexist. During the nesting season, there is always a showdown. The feisty fantails won't tolerate these visiting birds, even the almighty, dominant crow is not spared. Stray cats beat a hasty retreat too! A sparrow's nest-box would be ideal! Can an expert advise me at what distance a nest-box can be placed without disturbing the territorial fantails? What is a minimum distance for two species to nest without a clash? A watchful harmony at the end, would be ideal... I hope!

Dhaval - India Makarpura Vadodara Gujarat

I saw about 15-20 sparrows near a religious place(i.e. Mandir) of Sai Baba...!!!
At a place like grasslands and they were just knocking their beaks in the ground...!!!
I didn't observed it too much as i was on vehicle...!!
But i was surprised to see sparrows after a long time...!!!
Now also a few time when I go through that road I often see Sparrows there...!!!
I saw them in the morning time like between 8:00 am to somewhat 10:30 or less...!!!
