We moved to this Building 12 years back, our family specially my mother have been always keeping some bird food and water every morning without fail from last 30 years and no wonder where ever we went stayed we always had birds arounds. Every now and then i see about 10-20 sparrows sitting on our window grills and feeding on some food couple of times in the day. Our Family is mostly woken up by the bird songs everyday. If you like 1-2 crows now take food from our hands everyday by calling us.

I am a nature lover so birds chirping naturally mesmerizes me
but in recent years the chirping of common birds like sparrows have being significantly dropping.Sparrows chirping is very delightful and sometimes may be distractive as they are in a group always in playing mood .Also in society gardens their sightings are becoming elusive
No. of pigeons to have reduced earlier they used to nest in my garden .
Its wonderful from your side organizing such surveys i only came to know about this website from Times Of India.

i usually see them just outside my house,actually my mom is feeding the little birds from the time when we moved here,if i can recall from last 5-6 years and now they daily come for food and water whenever they see anyone on the terrace of my house also in these years they have become quite bold and some times doesn't even get scare and pick food from hands,also i would like to point out that there is Indian jujube (Ber)tree couple of meters away form my house and these Sparrow birds stay there,i have even seen them sleeping there in the night and the birds usually get up early in the morning(depending upon the seasons),(Ber)tree have lots of fine projection and it's also quite dense thus they provide excellent safety by not allowing there natural enemy's like cat's and Hawk to enter...i really think that we are very lucky to wake up every morning by hearing the beautiful voice of this cheerful and charming bird.

we are living in the said area moogambigai nagar in palavanjipalayam main road for more than 10 years. starting from 2001 we use maintain a small garden with little bushes. we use to see so many sparrows coming there and building nest in the bushes. later on the number of sparrows shrink but even now daily around 20 - 30 sparrows come here daily to eat some grains, food drink water and taking rest in the trees nearby.
