There are reasons to believe that the number of house sparrows is on the decline,and the scorching summer heat here in Mumbai
must be taking a toll on these tiny creatures,it is high time we birdlovers came together to try and find reasons for the decrease in the number of sparrow sightings,before its too late,kudos to citizensparrow for this great initiative.

huge no of 500, groups of sparrows returns back to their home at evening before sunset chasing the sun direction, but now on 2012 it becomes less in numbers and few groups

we give them daily some cereals to eat and in summer we keep water for them.i urge all of us to do the same

we have a small garden in our compound with flowering shrubs also, sparrows use these shrubs for shade and to play, courtship etc... we feed them everyday with rice and they wait for their feed early every morning, also water is placed in a shallow bowl...They are very protective of this space that they will not share it with other birds. they bring their young ones into the garden to teach them. its been a joy to watch them everyday, and they are so used to us they fly in at a call.. the date specified is not accurate but the association is more than 15 years.
