I go to the airport once in a way and felt thrilled to locate sparrows and their nests high up on the girdars of the roof. The sparrows were busy collecting food, building nests or feeding the young ones, unaffected by the noise and crowd below. Of course, they do not come close to human presence as they did in the past. Maybe they have well understood the evil plans of the humans, who drove them away from a beautiful garden city, systematically.

Yes, We used to have so many sparrows in our area (Chandigarh). Whenever we used to dry wheat to make flour after washing a large number used to come to feed. Now for a long time I haven't seen a single sparrow. Its the same case everywhere. I have worked and studied in Gurgaon for past 6 years and here also I haven't seen a single sparrow.
Also travelling to Indonesia ( Jakarta), Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) in the last 1 year I haven't seen a single sparrow.
I really miss the chirping of the sparrow and I feel we are responsible for this.

I am living in house which is builded in year 1960, I am child hood days we had make special efforts to stop sparrows from building nests in my house as they were attracting cats in house to eat them ,their eggs and new born birds.
But from last 15 to 20 years no sparrow entered in my house to build nest. Actually they are seen seldom now a days.

The sparrows at the airport hop about near the dosa stall, hoping for some crumbs. It's wonderful to see that they are still there, because from the rest of Bangalore we have seen them vanishing over the years. The authorities should do something to conserve their nests.
