I stay in city outskirts, very peaceful place away from pollution. Daily i see 15-20 birds near my home. My mom actually feeds the birds with grains & water after her daily pooja every morning.
When i lived in the city earlier i greatly missed the chirp of the birds in the mornings as i could rarely see them. After we moved out to city outskirts i could see fairly gud no.of sparrows.
Though my home has lot of trees in our compound and lot of trees around our location i could rarely see the Home sparrows nets.
Little away down the road we have a small water canal there i could see fair no.of sparrow nets.

The site was just outside the Barharwa Railway Station. During arrival in the night and departure in the evening I regularly used to see these birds roosting on a small tree (height not more than 10 feet). In the night the presence was so much that it gave the appearance of fruiting body on the branches. We were amazed to see that just below the tree there is Tea Shop, and the birds were not concerned at all.

Seeing so many sparrows at my hometown, finding none at my hostel was quite surprising to me. exploring the city, i found that house sparrows are nearly nowhere in the city. i did not know about the fact that these are on the verge of extinction. most probably, vadodara being industrially active, sparrows must have fled to some other place.
