In Ranjhi area , during drive for more than 2 Kms , more than 100/120 sparrows , along the road were seen , indicating healthy population in the locality.

In old residential colony visited on 5 Feb 2011, wherre short stay was made, saw good no of sparrows and other bird species.
More than 120/150 birds in stretch of about a Km, in scattered, small flocks.
Active nest 2 no and old abondaned 3/4 were seen in a house.

Vill Taenga & Jatmai temple area, Distt Raipur Raipur Chhattisgarh
Tarenga ; In this vill sparrows about 40 nos and 3/4 nests in road side houses were seen.
Tarenga Tank ; Few species of acquatic birds seen but no sparros around thia waterbody.
Jatmai ; It is an old temple situated in forest area .

Vill; Loharsi was an old big nesting site of Asian Openbills, which now does not exist.
Stayed for some time on 22 Nov 2009 to find out status and in the process sparrows were recorded in residential area . in all about 30/40
